- Reduces the risk of womens cancers
- Helps destroy breast cancer cells
- Reduces the formation of dangerous estrogens
- Promotes the formation of protective estrogens
Healthy Estrogen Balance
I3C is indole-3-carbinol, a nutrient that is present in cruciferous vegetables
such as broccoli and brussels sprouts. I3C is a cancer-fighting nutrient,
and supports a healthy balance of estrogen metabolism. There are two
forms of estrogen metabolites: the bad estrogens which promote the
development of breast cancer, and the good estrogens which are
harmless or even protective against cancer formation. I3C reduces the
formation of the former while increasing production of the latter.
Cancer-fighting Actions
I3C can stop the growth of, or even destroy existing breast cancer cells. It
blocks the activation of genes that contribute to cancer cell growth while
activating genes that help to fight cancer. In studies, I3C has been found
to reverse localized cancer of the cervix in women.
I3C and DIM
I3C is one of the most effective cancer-fighting compounds in cruciferous
vegetables. Some studies suggest that DIM, a condensation product of
I3C is also effective. The molecules are very closely related and research
suggests they provide the same estrogen balancing effects. I3C is
supported by a large number of studies, and has been shown to be
effective in both cellular studies and human trials, and provides an extra
weapon in the fight against womens cancers.
