About Nature's Way Organic MCT Oil - 480ml

Nature’s Way Organic MCT Oil provides 14g of MCT oils of premium quality per serving that is purely sourced. Nature’s Way MCT oil is certified organic and is quickly digested into the system where it converts MCT oil into energy for the brain and the body. MCT or Medium-chain triglyceride is a type of saturated fat. It is naturally found in coconut and palm kernel oil as well as components of dairy products. Nature Ways MCT is made from organic coconut oil. Taking MCT oil has many other health benefits including; helping you feel full faster, improving mood, aiding in weight loss, increasing cognitive function, protecting the skin, lowering inflammation, and strengthening the immune system. This product is vegan, keto and paleo certified. It also contains no gluten, hexane, palm, or filler oils. Nature’s Way MCT Oil is completely colorless, odorless, and flavorless. It can be mixed into smoothies, shakes, coffees, other beverages, salads, yogurts, and many more. MCT oil is best to start in smaller dosages to prevent gastrointestinal discomfort and to be taken with food until tolerance builds up. This product doesn’t need to be refrigerated and will stay in its liquid form even when cooled.

MCT versus Coconut Oil

MCT oil is a type of saturated fat and contains a very high concentration of MCTs. MCT’s are medium-chain triglycerides meaning medium chain length of fatty acids. Long-chain triglycerides are found in most dietary sources of fat, such as avocado, fish, olive oil, and seeds. MCTs, do not require enzymes or bile acids for optimal digestion and absorption compared to long-chain triglycerides. MCTs can travel straight to the liver, where they are rapidly digested and absorbed. At this point, they can be easily converted into immediate energy or turned into ketones. Ketones are used for energy instead of glucose or sugar and are compounds produced in the liver once it breaks down fat. MCT oils usually contain 50-80% caprylic acid and roughly 20-50% caproic acid. Coconut oil is made from the kernel portion of coconuts. Coconut oil naturally contains MCTs (42% lauric acid, 7% caprylic acid, and 5% capric acid), long-chain triglycerides, and unsaturated fats. Coconut oil contains a high amount of lauric acid which slows down digestion and absorption. Therefore, coconut oil is not a good source of MCT oils when you are wanting a high dose of MCT oils alone.
