A Dangerous Amino Acid
Homocysteine is a byproduct of an important metabolic process called the methylation cycle. It is a derivative of the essential amino acid methionine, and can be recycled into various useful products by the addition of methyl groups. Unfortunately, homocysteine is toxic at high levels. When it accumulates, it can damage blood vessels and impede collagen formation, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Homocysteine Control
In order to recycle homocysteine into useful products and prevent it from accumulating, other participants in the methylation cycle are required. The main cofactors are Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12 and folate. The process also requires methyl donors, such as trimethylglycine which is the most effective homocysteine lowering substance known. Unfortunately, most people do not get enough of these nutrients in their diets.
Protect your Heart
MaxMethyl is formulated to include all the cofactors and methyl donors needed to convert homocysteine into useful amino acids, thereby helping to reduce the risk of heart disease.
