Spice Up Your Tea to Warm Up and Relax!

  • Nature's Source

Have you ever tried a spice tea? Spice teas are aromatic with their relaxing blend of spices, such as cardamom or ginger, added to a base of black tea.

How to Spice Up Your Black Tea

Steep your tea bag and add ½ tsp of crushed cardamom or ginger.

Cardamom (Eletteria Cardamomum)

Current research shows cardamom seeds contain volatile oils, which primarily target the digestive system. To this end, cardamom is a good carminative and is thought to provide digestive stimulation when required. Cardamom is also traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine for treating deficiencies in the body, seen by impaired nervous system heath. Additionally, cardamom can be effective against halitosis, and is able to mask the strong odour of raw garlic when cardamom is consumed after the garlic.

Ginger (Zingiber Officinale)

A relative of turmeric, ginger (or Singabera as it is called in Sanskrit), has traditionally been used as a digestive tonic (indigestion, nausea, cramping, and colic). Ginger enhances circulation to the periphery, a useful action, especially during the wintertime! The characteristic hot, peppery taste of ginger is due to its oleoresin compound, called gingerol.
